Guided Academics Syllabus
Curriculum
Goal: Our focus in Guided Academics is to provide an opportunity for students to continue to excel academically in daily classes. The study lab is different from a traditional study hall. The study lab is designed not only to provide students with a structured, scheduled study/working environment, but also to provide instruction and interventions that support student success.
Standards: Guided Academics is an excellent opportunity for students who choose to take advantage of it. Bearing that in mind, it is essential that each student enrolled recognizes this great opportunity and treats it as a privilege. Students are expected to handle themselves with a very high level of respect and maturity.
Lessons: Throughout the trimester, students will learn study skills to assist in becoming proficient learners. These lessons may include but are not limited to the following topics: test-taking skills, note-taking skills, organization, active listening, goal setting, and reading strategies.
Daily Supplies: Academic planner, books from current classes, notes from current classes, homework from current classes, and vocabulary from current classes
Points will average together for each student’s grade in the following manner:
Grading Scale:
A 93-100% C 73%-63%
A- 90%-92% C- 70%-72%
B+ 87%-89% D+ 67%-69%
